Frequently Asked Questions

What time is check in / check out?

Check in 4pm, check out 10am. Note that for short break bookings outwith busy periods we may be able to offer flexibility on this, please ask us nearer the time of your arrival.

Are bed linen and towels supplied?

Yes, with most of our rentals bedding, bed linen & towels are provided. In a few cases there is a supplement for towels - please check your booking details or web description.

What else is provided?

We also provide a starter supply of toilet rolls, kitchen roll, dishwasher tablets. Tea towels are provided as are bath mats. Most properties have a standard kitchen stock of cooking oil, salt and pepper etc., but this cannot be guaranteed.

When do I pay the rental?

On booking a 25% deposit will be required. The balance of rental is due 8 weeks prior to the start of your holiday date.

How do I pay my rental?

We can accept uk debit card or Mastercard / Visa credit cards. Please note there is a 2.5% surcharge on Mastercard / visa payments. We can also accept payment by direct bank transfer. We are sorry but we cannot accept cheques.

What are your opening hours?

The office is staffed from Mon - Sat 0930 to 1700. On Sundays best to email. For emergencies we are available 24/7 via mobile given on our answermachine when office unattended or outwith normal office hours.

Where do I collect my key?

Properties vary but in most cases a secure keysafe is located at the property. In some cases keys are picked up from our office. You will receive full booking details and information on receipt of the balance of your rental by email (or post if this has method been requested)

I may be arriving late is this a problem?

No problem at all - just best to contact us prior to your arrival in order that we can make the appropriate arrangements to leave the key in a secure place for you.

What if I have to cancel my booking, do I get a refund?

We would always advise guests to take out holiday cancellation insurance if you foresee this perhaps being an issue. If you need to cancel your booking we will make every effort to re-let the property to someone else - if we are successful in doing this you will receive any rental monies paid to us back minus an administration fee which is currently £50 plus VAT.

Can I bring my dog?

Many of our properties permit pets, some don’t. If you require advise on which property would be suitable for you then contact us by phone or email. We have a search facility on the website for those seeking pet friendly properties. Pets are not permitted on furniture, gardens must be foul free on departure. A supplement per pet is applicable.

What is a security deposit?

In some cases properties require a refundable security deposit - this is held as a good housekeeping deposit and refunded after your stay (usually within a week) providing no damages or excess cleaning have been noted.

Do any of your properties permit smoking?

No sorry - as a courtesy to other guests none of the properties permit smoking inside. Most properties have gardens or a courtyard for smoking outside, but we do ask guests to dispose of their cigarette ends thoughtfully.

What do I do with my refuse?

All properties vary, but across the board bottles and glass would need to be taken away with you and disposed at the nearest recycling centre. Most properties have a green bin for plastics and cans, a black bin for cardboard and paper and a blue bin for anything which isn’t recyclable. Some properties also have a brown bin for food waste which should be wrapped in newspaper or put in the special food waste bags provided. If you are in any doubt then give us a ring in the office and we can advise you.
